To prepare the actors i would hot seat them to put them in
the role of the character. Also it would help them understand the role of the
character and what their objective is .Some of the questions i would ask would be:
Tell me about your character- i would get to know their
character
What are your surroundings?- I would know the atmosphere
that should be created
What does your character want? - i would find what their
character wants
I would ask these questions because then I get to know their
character well and know how to direct them with a proper storyline.
I think that they could improvise an important part of their
life as they would remember it well and would not need to practice it at all. I
think from this, the actors could learn that not everything looks better, when
it is practiced and that without practice some things look better than others
do as it can come out more comical.
Actoning text could help a play come together because then
everyone would understand what is going on in the play as the actors say it as
a character. In addition, it would make the play a bit easier to perform, as
they would know what is going on with the characters and what they are doing,
so they can focus on the way they say it and their body movement. Some of the
actions they could do is some threatening moves as the mum goes into the rink
to fight. In addition, Ernie and Dad could look scared for mum as they feel
like they will not do very well.
I think it would be quite effective if Ernie stood with his
dad waiting for his mum to come out of the ring so it looks like he is scared
as most children stand with their parents when they are nervous or scared. It
would be quite effective if Mum stood in a daring or tainting way as it fits
perfectly with her threatening voice. Ernie’s mum should probably move around in
a taunting way to make it look like she is not scared at all.
I feel like if we try a technique of focusing on one thing
every week , progressively we will be pefect at every thing for eg.
Our 5
week span of practice
·
1-Words
·
2-Comedy
·
3-Where the audience is
·
4-Timing
·
5- Stage position
If you try something like this then you
will be good at every thing in your play
To show that the audience know what is
going on we can embed things into the characters lines to show what is going on
. we can also have a witty narrator as it is a comedy show which can inform
people what is going on while they have the comedy sill put in there.
Good effort to link to the KPIs on the sheet, but you need to give specific examples to reach the green level.

T Describe how actioning text can help develop a performance
To achieve this you need to suggest specific actions to try for specific lines of text. Explain what the character is doing or trying to do by saying the line. Explain how this will create relationships, tension, conflict or status in the scene.
An action is a verb showing what the character is TRYING TO DO by saying a line - it is not a movement or gesture.
